Militants killed five private security guards at a dam construction site in Panjgur district, Balochistan, early Tuesday. The Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) claimed responsibility later that night.
The guards, hired to protect the construction area, were attacked by over a dozen armed men on motorcycles, according to police. The guards briefly returned fire but were outnumbered.
Government spokesperson Shahid Rind stated all victims were local, and security forces transported the bodies and two injured guards to Panjgur hospital, where the injured are reported to be stable. Reports suggest the attackers also took the guards’ weapons.
