The Federal Investigation Agency has arrested nine suspects, including a urologist and a private hospital employee, in connection with an alleged illegal kidney transplant and organ trafficking network in Islamabad.
According to FIA officials, the arrests were made during a raid at a private hospital in the capital where suspected unlawful kidney removal and transplant procedures were being carried out.
Investigators identified the doctor and hospital staff member as key figures in the alleged network, which is reportedly involved in organ trafficking activities.
The operation was conducted on the directives of Mohsin Naqvi, Usman Anwar, and Islamabad Zone Director Syed Shahzad Nadeem Bukhari.
Officials said several other individuals, including suspected donors, recipients, and hospital employees, were also detained for questioning.
The case is reportedly linked to a wider organ trafficking network targeting vulnerable individuals from underdeveloped areas of southern Punjab, particularly Rahim Yar Khan and Dera Ghazi Khan.
