700 Gaza Pilgrims Arrive in Saudi Arabia to Perform Hajj

Millions of Muslims from around the world have arrived in the holy cities of Makkah and Saudi Arabia to perform Hajj this year, including hundreds of pilgrims from war-affected Gaza.

According to reports, around 6,600 Palestinian pilgrims have reached the Kingdom for the annual pilgrimage, among them 700 residents from the Gaza Strip. The pilgrims travelled from the occupied West Bank and East Jerusalem via Jordan before entering Saudi Arabia, while Gaza pilgrims arrived through Egypt.

The Palestinian pilgrims are currently accommodated in multiple hotels in Makkah as they perform Hajj rituals.

Official statistics show that over 1.67 million pilgrims performed Hajj last year, with a majority arriving from outside Saudi Arabia.
