India Defeats New Zealand to Claim Third T20 World Cup Title

India clinched a record third T20 World Cup title, becoming the first team to defend their crown with a 96-run victory over New Zealand in a one-sided final. Co-hosts India lifted the trophy on home soil at the Narendra Modi Stadium, cheered by over 86,000 fans. Sanju Samson scored a blazing 89 off 46 balls to guide India to 255-5, while Jasprit Bumrah starred with 4-15 as New Zealand were bowled out for 159 in 19 overs. Axar Patel and Abhishek Sharma also contributed key wickets, with Bumrah’s brilliant slower-ball yorkers and near hat-trick sealing India’s dominant win.
