Three people, including two children, died on Sunday after being trapped in a 100-foot-deep well at a residential building near Fawara Chowk in Garden, likely due to toxic gases and lack of oxygen, according to police.
Deputy Inspector General of South-Zone (DIG-South) Syed Asad Raza stated that the children fell into the well while playing nearby. The well’s cover was broken during their play, and they likely inhaled toxic gases or suffered from oxygen deprivation.
A passerby tried to rescue the children by going into the well but also died, according to the police official.
