On Monday, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan embarked on a significant trip to three Gulf countries, including Saudi Arabia. During this visit, Erdogan held a meeting with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, focusing on ways to enhance trade and tourism ties between their nations.
As a symbol of goodwill and cooperation, President Erdogan gifted the crown prince a Togg, Turkey’s inaugural electric car, proudly produced in their homeland. The exchange between the two leaders also encompassed the signing of agreements across various sectors, spanning energy, defense, research and development, direct investment, and media.
Highlighting the economic significance of their partnership, trade between Turkey and Saudi Arabia amounted to $6.5 billion in the previous year, and the first half of 2023 already saw transactions worth $3.4 billion. President Erdogan expressed his optimism for further exponential growth in the coming years.
