The PTA claims that a faulty submarine cable is the main cause of recent internet disruptions in Pakistan

The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has identified the cause of the recent internet outage in Pakistan. PTA Chairman Hafiz Rahman stated that a fault in one of the country’s submarine fiber optic cables is responsible for the disruption. Pakistan has seven submarine cables for internet connectivity, and one is damaged. Repair work is expected to be finished by August 27. Rahman emphasized that this issue is limited to Pakistan’s cable infrastructure and is not a global problem.
