Minister of State for Interior Senator Talal Chaudhry has stated that Pakistan is the world’s fifth most populous country and claimed that Lahore is safer than London while addressing a meeting of the Senate Standing Committee on Interior. During the session, the committee chairman discussed the issue of black-tinted vehicle windows, suggesting that users should pay a prescribed fee as practiced in other countries, and raised concerns over fines of Rs50,000 being imposed despite the absence of a clear policy. Responding to the objections, Senator Talal Chaudhry said there is currently no formal provincial or federal policy on the matter and urged the committee to guide the ministry, explaining that enforcement actions were being taken under existing excise laws.
