The Saudi government has introduced a new safety initiative to protect children visiting Masjid al-Haram and Masjid an-Nabawi, announcing the distribution of special smart wristbands for young pilgrims to prevent separation from parents during Hajj and Umrah, as millions of worshippers gather amid extreme heat and heavy crowds; according to the General Authority for the Affairs of the Two Holy Mosques, the wristbands will carry complete details of parents or guardians, enabling quick identification and reunification if a child goes missing, and will be available with on-site assistance at Bab Abdul Aziz and Bab Fahd (Gate No. 79).
