Saudi Arabia Imposes Temporary Visa Ban on Pakistan Ahead of Hajj Season

Saudi authorities have announced a temporary suspension of visas from 14 countries ahead of the upcoming Hajj season. The suspension, which applies to Umrah, business, and family visas, is expected to last until mid-June, as confirmed by diplomatic sources. However, Umrah visa holders will still be allowed to enter Saudi Arabia until April 13.

The countries affected by the suspension include Pakistan, India, Bangladesh, Egypt, Indonesia, Iraq, Nigeria, Jordan, Algeria, Sudan, Ethiopia, Tunisia, and Yemen. Saudi officials explained that the measure aims to prevent unauthorized participation in Hajj, following incidents in previous years where visitors with multiple-entry visas overstayed and performed the pilgrimage illegally, leading to overcrowding and safety concerns.
