The Saudi Arabian government has announced a new rule prohibiting sick individuals from participating in the Hajj pilgrimage, allowing only healthy and physically fit individuals to perform the journey. This decision was outlined in a health advisory from the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah, which was also shared with Pakistan’s Ministry of Religious Affairs. According to the advisory, those with serious illnesses will not be allowed to travel for Hajj in 2025.
This precaution is aimed at protecting the health and safety of all pilgrims, especially given the extreme weather conditions during the pilgrimage. The Saudi government stressed the importance of good health and fitness for Hajj participants, highlighting its commitment to ensuring a safe and manageable pilgrimage experience for everyone involved.
