The fate of the imprisoned founding chairman of the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) drew attention on Tuesday evening as he approached the high court over concerns about a potential court martial. The former prime minister fears he may face a military trial related to the May 9 cases, based on FIRs filed against him in Rawalpindi. He submitted a petition to the Islamabad High Court (IHC) to challenge the possibility of being tried in a military court.
In his petition, Mr. Khan mentioned the recent arrest of retired Lt Gen Faiz Hameed, noting that it has been widely speculated that Hameed could testify against him in the May 9 and 10 cases, leading to his transfer to military custody.
