Quetta Gladiators choose Muhammad Amir in the Platinum category

Quetta Gladiators made a strategic move by selecting Mohammad Amir as their second pick in the Platinum Category, much to the delight of the former Pakistan fast bowler. Amir, a left-arm fast bowler, was enlisted as a wildcard in the Platinum Category during the initial round of the player draft, shortly after his release from the Karachi Kings.

During the first round, Amir emerged as one of the top picks. David Willey secured the first spot as Multan Sultans’ Platinum pick, followed by Karachi Kings choosing Kieron Pollard. Quetta Gladiators further strengthened their squad by acquiring West Indies all-rounder Sherfane Rutherford as their Platinum pick.

Peshawar Zalmi opted for Afghanistan spinner Noor Ahmad, while Lahore Qalandars secured the services of the flamboyant opener Fakhar Zaman in the first round. The drafting ceremony for Pakistan Super League (PSL) Season 9 witnessed David Willey as the first pick in the Platinum Category.

Amidst these moves, it’s noteworthy that Willey, following the World Cup disappointment, decided to retire from international cricket. He played a pivotal role in England’s 93-run victory in their last group match at the World Cup.
