The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has released its predictions for pre-monsoon heavy rainfall across the country from the 25th to the 30th of June 2023. While the plains will remain hot and humid, the upper and central regions are expected to experience heavy rainfall accompanied by strong winds.
Today, Islamabad and Kashmir are expected to receive rainfall, although the daytime temperatures will remain warm. Additionally, most districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Punjab will endure scorching heat.
Rainfall is likely in several areas, including Dir, Chitral, Swat, Kohistan, Mansehra, Abbottabad, Peshawar, Haripur, Mardan, Noshehra, Swabi, Bannu, D.I Khan, Karam, Laki Marwat, Kohat, and Gilgit.
Strong winds and thunderstorms are anticipated in Attock, Rawalpindi, Jhelum, Sargodha, Hafizabad, Mandi Bahauddin, Sialkot, Chakwal, Mianwali, Gujrat, Gujranwala, Narowal, Sheikhupura, Murree, and Gilgit.
Dusty winds accompanied by thunderstorms are also expected in Multan, Bahawalpur, Bahawalnagar, Sahiwal, D.G. Khan, Bhakkar, and Faisalabad. Sindh will experience hot weather during the day and winds in the evening. Karachi is also expected to receive light rainfall.
Yesterday’s recorded rainfall includes 17 mm in Muzaffarabad, 07 mm at the Airport, 04 mm in Rawalakot, 15 mm in Malam Jabba, 12 mm in Balakot, and 05 mm in Saidu Sharif.
