PM Shehbaz Sharif announces Iran’s commitment to provide a daily supply of 100MW electricity to Gwadar

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has announced that Gwadar in Balochistan will receive a daily supply of 100 megawatts of electricity from Iran. This will be made possible through the operationalization of the Polan-Gabd electricity transmission line project.

The project was inaugurated by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Iranian President Seyed Ebrahim Raisi. Along with the inauguration, a marketplace was also established at the Mand-Pishin border crossing. The transmission line will not only cater to the energy needs of the region but also strengthen the cooperation between Pakistan and Iran.

Under the leadership of Prime Minister Shehbaz, the project was completed within a remarkable four-month period. It is anticipated that this development will bring about progress, trade opportunities, and employment prospects for Gwadar and Balochistan. Additionally, the border marketplace aims to foster cross-border trade and stimulate economic growth.
