Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has promoted General Asim Munir to the prestigious rank of Field Marshal, honoring his outstanding leadership and service to Pakistan. A special Guard of Honour ceremony was held at GHQ to mark the occasion. In his speech, the Prime Minister emphasized that lasting peace in the region can only come through dialogue, not conflict. He reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to resolving key regional issues—like the Kashmir dispute, water sharing, and trade—through peaceful and diplomatic means. Shehbaz Sharif also suggested that neutral-ground talks could help ease tensions and build long-term peace, unity, and progress for the region.
