Pakistan’s IT sector is experiencing strong growth, with exports reaching $286 million in July 2024. This marks a 34% increase compared to last year, although it is a slight 4% decrease from the previous month. The current export figure is also above the 12-month average of $269 million.
This success is due to a growing global client base, particularly in the GCC region, and favorable regulatory changes, like the State Bank of Pakistan increasing the retention limit for IT companies. Pakistani IT firms have also gained international recognition by participating in major events such as London Tech Week 2024 and Collision Canada 2024. These achievements showcase the sector’s resilience and contribution to Pakistan’s economic growth.
