Pakistan to Play T20 World Cup Match Against India as Govt Confirms

The Pakistani government announced on Monday that the national team will play the T20 World Cup match against India scheduled for February 15, following high-level discussions with the ICC. The decision came after an ICC delegation met PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi and hours after Sri Lanka urged Pakistan to participate. According to an official statement on X, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif was briefed on the outcome of talks involving the PCB, ICC, and Bangladesh Cricket Board, as well as formal requests from Bangladesh supported by Sri Lanka, the UAE, and other member nations seeking Pakistan’s leadership to resolve recent challenges.
