Pakistan to Host First International Gemstone Exhibition in July 2026

Pakistan is set to host its first international gemstone exhibition in July 2026, aiming to showcase the country’s vast but underutilized mineral wealth to global investors, traders, and industry experts.

Despite an estimated $450 billion in gemstone reserves, Pakistan’s annual exports remain around $5.8 million, highlighting challenges such as outdated mining methods, limited value addition, and weak processing infrastructure.

To address these gaps, the government plans to establish three modern Centers of Excellence for gemstone cutting, polishing, and processing to improve quality and global competitiveness.

In addition, training initiatives will be introduced to develop skilled workers and promote modern, sustainable mining practices, with the goal of improving efficiency and boosting Pakistan’s presence in international markets.
