Pakistan gives back more than 21,000 Hajj slots to Saudi Arabia

In a significant development, the Ministry of Religious Affairs in Pakistan has chosen to return more than 21,000 Hajj quotas to Saudi Arabia as part of the government scheme. Instead of allocating these quotas to the 5,633 individuals who were unsuccessful in the regular Hajj scheme draw, the decision has been made to reimburse their funds. The regular Hajj scheme received 69,438 applications, and only 63,805 were selected, leaving 5,633 applicants without an assigned quota.

Furthermore, the Sponsorship Hajj Scheme, with a 25,000 quota, attracted only 4,000 applications, resulting in over 21,000 unused quotas set to be returned to Saudi Arabia.
