Pakistan Earns $2.59 Billion from IT Services Exports in 10 Months

Pakistan earned $2.593 billion from exporting IT services in the first ten months of FY 2023-24, marking a significant increase of 20.41% compared to $2.135 billion in the same period last year, according to the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics.

Exports of computer services saw robust growth of 24.55%, reaching $2.153 billion, up from $1.729 billion previously. Software consultancy exports also grew by 10.80%, while hardware consultancy exports rose by 19.24%.

Information services exports experienced a substantial surge of 105.90%, led by news agency services, which increased by 167.58%. Telecommunication services exports showed an overall rise of 7.04%. Within this category, call center services saw a notable increase of 17.59%, although other telecom services experienced a slight decrease of 1.56%.

These statistics highlight the expanding role of Pakistan’s IT sector in global markets. The significant increases across various IT service categories demonstrate the sector’s resilience and growth potential, contributing positively to the country’s economy.
