Amarjeet Singh Daulat, former chief of India’s intelligence agency RAW, has attributed the recent Pahalgam attack in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) to security lapses, stressing that responsibility lies with New Delhi. In an interview with the BBC, Daulat emphasized the importance of backchannel diplomacy between India and Pakistan to address bilateral tensions. He urged India to present any credible evidence of Pakistan’s involvement at international platforms. While ruling out the possibility of a full-scale war, Daulat acknowledged the potential for limited military actions but dismissed the likelihood of nuclear conflict between the two nations.
