Over 250 Arrested as Lahore Rape Protests Spread to Rawalpindi

Police arrested at least 250 violent protesters in Rawalpindi, using tear gas to disperse students protesting the alleged rape of a Lahore college student. The incident, which went viral on social media, led to student protests across Lahore. Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz called the rape claim “fabricated,” accusing PTI of spreading false news. Rawalpindi SSP Hafiz Kamran Asghar confirmed the arrests, stating that legal action would be taken against those disrupting order under the guise of protests, but the situation is now under control.
