Nawaz Sharif and Jahangir Tareen have been granted the right to lodge an appeal

The Supreme Court Review of Judgements and Orders Act of 2023 has been officially enacted into law. President Dr. Arif Alvi has signed the legislation, as confirmed by the details provided. The court received a notification signed by the President, which was delivered by the Attorney General.

According to legal experts, both former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and Jahangir Tareen will have the opportunity to file an appeal under this new law.

It is important to note that the National Assembly had previously approved a bill allowing appeals on Supreme Court decisions. As per the provisions of the bill, a revision petition can be filed within a period of two months from the date of the Supreme Court’s decision.

Furthermore, applications for revising previous decisions must be submitted within 30 days.
