Pacer Naseem Shah will return to the Test team for the home series against Bangladesh after a 13-month recovery from a shoulder injury, according to a Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) press release on Wednesday.
Naseem missed the Asia Cup and the World Cup due to the injury sustained during a match against India in Colombo last year.
The PCB has announced a 17-member Test squad for the two-match series against Bangladesh, starting August 21. The first Test will be held at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium from August 21-25, and the second in Karachi from August 30 to September 3.
Pakistan’s training camp, led by red-ball head coach Jason Gillespie and assistant coach Azhar Mahmood, will begin at Rawalpindi on August 11. The Bangladesh team will arrive in Islamabad early on August 17 and is expected to train that afternoon.
Shan Masood will continue as captain, with Saud Shakeel named vice-captain, replacing Shaheen Shah Afridi.
