Murtaza Wahab has been elected as the Mayor of Karachi

Murtaza Wahab, representing the People’s Party (PPP), has been unofficially declared as the elected mayor of Karachi. The mayoral and deputy mayoral elections in Karachi were concluded through a show of hands.

Murtaza Wahab, the PPP candidate, secured 173 votes, while Hafiz Naeemur Rehman, the joint candidate of Jamaat-e-Islami and Tehreek-e-Insaf, received 160 votes, according to unofficial results.

Hafiz Naeemur Rahman has expressed concerns about the election process, citing the absence of 30 elected officials who may have faced mistreatment. He questions the fairness of the election given these circumstances. However, he remains confident in their ability to overcome the PPP’s tactics and ultimately succeed.
