Microsoft has introduced a significant update to its Paint image editing software, featuring the addition of support for layers and transparency. This latest enhancement empowers users to craft digital artwork with the convenience of working in layers and the option to save their creations as transparent PNG files.
To leverage this innovative feature, users must be operating Paint version 11.2308.18.0 or a more recent iteration. Presently, this update is exclusively available to Windows Insiders participating in the Canary and Dev Channels.
In a fashion reminiscent of popular tools like Photoshop, Microsoft Paint users can now seamlessly employ layers, granting them the ability to insert, delete, and manage various elements within their images. This newfound capability includes the stacking of images, elements, and text atop one another. The newly introduced ‘Layer’ button is conveniently situated within the toolbar, providing users access to a dedicated panel on the right side of the image for efficient layer management.
