A rescue operation was underway on Wednesday night after a woman and her young daughter fell into an open sewerage line at an under-construction site near Bhatti Chowk, according to Rescue 1122. Officials said emergency teams were dispatched immediately and launched an intensive search, but no trace of the victims had been found so far. A Rescue 1122 spokesperson confirmed that the woman’s husband was present at the scene and verified the incident, adding that the search would continue until the bodies are recovered. Police said the incident occurred in an area excavated for sewerage pipelines as part of an ongoing government project to expand Bhatti Chowk near the Ali Hajveri Tomb.
