Laborer in Jehlum receives Rs. 18 lakh electricity bill

In Jhelum, Punjab, a laborer was stunned to receive an electricity bill of Rs1,800,000 for July, especially after struggling to pay the previous month’s bill of Rs56,000. Earning only Rs1,000 a day, he finds it utterly impossible to pay such an exorbitant amount. WAPDA, the electricity company, has acknowledged the issue and is currently investigating the billing error.

They have assured that if an error is found, they will adjust the bill to reflect the accurate amount.
