The Iranian President, Ebrahim Raisi, and Saudi Arabia’s Crown Prince, Mohammed bin Salman, recently engaged in their first-ever phone call since the restoration of diplomatic ties between the two nations.
Their conversation, which lasted approximately 45 minutes, primarily centered on the pressing Palestinian issue, garnering significant international attention. This dialogue occurred following a substantial agreement brokered by China, facilitating the re-establishment of diplomatic relations between Iran and Saudi Arabia.
During the call, they emphasized the urgent necessity to halt the ongoing war crimes against the Palestinian population. The situation in the Palestinian territories, particularly in Gaza, is gravely dire. Unfortunately, the death toll in Gaza has surged to 1,100 people, with an additional 5,339 reported as injured, a result of continuous Israeli airstrikes over the past five days.
