India has achieved a significant milestone in military technology with the successful test of a domestically developed long-range hypersonic missile. This test places India among a select group of nations with access to advanced hypersonic missile technology.
The global push for hypersonic weapons is intensifying, with countries like India, China, Russia, and the United States leading efforts to develop long-range, high-speed missiles.
Developed by the state-run Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) in collaboration with industry partners, the missile is capable of carrying payloads over distances greater than 1,500 km (930 miles), strengthening India’s defense capabilities. The government highlighted the successful test as a major achievement in the nation’s defense development program.
