Tea consumption in Pakistan has surged, with citizens spending over Rs31 billion on tea in just two months, according to data from the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS).
In the first two months of the current fiscal year, Pakistanis consumed tea worth more than Rs31 billion, marking an increase of Rs11 billion compared to the same period last year. Tea imports for July and August in this fiscal year totaled Rs31.64 billion.
For August 2023 alone, Pakistan imported tea valued at Rs15.91 billion, a significant rise from Rs10.29 billion in August 2022. These figures indicate a substantial and growing demand for tea in Pakistan recently.
