In 2022, Iran achieved the sixth-highest growth rate in car manufacturing globally.

According to IRNA, the International Organization of Motor Vehicle Manufacturers (also known as OICA) has ranked Iran as the sixth country in the world for car manufacturing growth in 2022.

As per the annual report published by the International Organization of Motor Vehicle Manufacturers in mid-March, Iran has been placed at the 16th position among the world’s largest automakers in 2022. This ranking positions Iran above industrialized countries such as the UK, Russia, and the Czech Republic. Iran has moved up three spots from the previous year, according to the OICA survey, placing it among the top automakers worldwide. In 2021, the Islamic Republic was ranked 19th on the OICA’s list of the world’s top automakers. The report indicates that Iranian automakers produced 1,064,298 vehicles in 2022, which is a 19% increase compared to the previous year.
