ICC Imposes Fine on Indian Cricket Team

The International Cricket Council (ICC) has fined the Indian cricket team 10% of their match fees for a slow over rate in the second ODI against South Africa in Raipur on December 3. India fell two overs short of the required rate, resulting in a penalty under Article 2.22 of the ICC Code of Conduct. Captain KL Rahul accepted the sanction. In the match, South Africa chased a challenging 359-run target to win by four wickets, while India’s slow over rate added to their on-field struggles. The ICC has recently stepped up enforcement of over-rate rules to ensure timely completion of games.
