Hospital Ward Boy Rescues 26 Babies from Fire, Becomes Hero

A devastating fire erupted in the children’s ward of a teaching hospital in Sahiwal, Punjab, resulting in the heartbreaking loss of four young lives.

Amidst the chaos, the courageous hospital staff and security guards exhibited remarkable bravery, rescuing many amidst the peril. Approximately 60 to 70 children and their families found themselves trapped within the flames.

A poignant moment of heroism emerged as Sanam Jamali, a social activist, shared a stirring image of Arshad, a ward boy, who valiantly saved 26 children from the inferno sparked by a short circuit. His selflessness and quick action have garnered widespread admiration and acclaim.

Tragically, the death toll climbed to four as two more children succumbed to their injuries on Saturday, further deepening the sorrow.

In response to this harrowing tragedy, Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has called for a comprehensive investigation into the incident. She extended her heartfelt condolences to the grieving families and stressed the imperative of stringent accountability measures to avert similar calamities in the future. The Chief Minister’s decisive actions underscore the paramount importance of prioritizing safety and preventing any further tragedies.
