Hafeez believes Pakistan can defeat Australia

Following Pakistan’s substantial 360-run defeat to Australia in the initial Test at Perth, Team Director Mohammad Hafeez conveyed optimism about the squad’s capabilities but highlighted the unsatisfactory implementation of their plans.

Hafeez retains faith in the team’s potential to triumph over Australia on their home turf, acknowledging, however, a lapse in commitment and the effective execution of strategies. He underscored the squad’s tactical errors and missed opportunities in pivotal moments. During the pursuit of a challenging 450-run target, Pakistan encountered difficulties, ultimately collapsing for a mere 89 runs. Australia’s pace attack, spearheaded by Nathon Lyon, efficiently disassembled the visiting team, securing a decisive victory within a four-day span. This setback thwarted Pakistan’s endeavors to clinch a Test victory in Australia since 1995.
