Governor Sindh Kamran Tessori declares free motorcycles and phones for victims of street crime in Karachi

Sindh Governor Kamran Tessori has introduced a series of initiatives designed to tackle social issues and extend support to those affected by street crimes in Karachi. A noteworthy initiative involves providing free motorbikes and cellphones to individuals who have fallen prey to street crimes, particularly those who have had their motorcycles stolen. To benefit from this offer, individuals must present their original Computerized National Identity Cards (CNICs) and First Information Reports (FIRs) at the Governor House.

Governor Tessori underscored the importance of collective efforts in resolving national issues, expressing confidence that contributions from all quarters can have a significant impact. Drawing attention to the gravity of the matter, Tessori revealed that over 1,700 motorcycles were reported stolen in Karachi in the previous year.

In addition to the distribution of motorbikes and cellphones, Tessori announced the issuance of health insurance cards providing coverage of up to Rs500,000 for medical treatment, benefitting both individuals and their families. This initiative aims to address healthcare challenges faced by the broader population.

Governor Tessori further reaffirmed his commitment to public welfare, citing past efforts such as providing ration to 250,000 people and hosting iftar for 300,000 individuals at the Governor’s House. Additionally, he disclosed the completion of preparations for free IT courses set to be launched soon, offering opportunities for skill development and education.

Notably, Tessori emphasized that he has not made any demands from anyone during his 15-month tenure. These initiatives collectively demonstrate a comprehensive approach by the Sindh governor to address issues of street crimes, healthcare, and education, reflecting a commitment to overcoming the challenges faced by the community in Karachi.
