Goodbye Skype! Service to Shut Down Tomorrow After 20 Years

Microsoft has announced that Skype will be shut down on May 5, 2025, after 20 years of service. The company is shifting focus to simplify its communication tools, encouraging users to transition to Microsoft Teams. Teams offers similar features, such as video calls, messaging, and file sharing, and Microsoft is ensuring a smooth transition by automatically transferring chat histories and contacts to new accounts. While Skype Credit can no longer be purchased, all Skype services will remain available until each user’s billing period ends, giving ample time for users to make the switch without losing any important data.
