FIR Filed Against Engineer Muhammad Ali Mirza Under PECA and Blasphemy Law

A case has been registered against religious scholar Engineer Muhammad Ali Mirza in Jhelum, police confirmed on Tuesday. The FIR, filed at the City Police Station on a citizen’s complaint, includes charges under the Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act (PECA) and Section 295-C of the Pakistan Penal Code. A day earlier, Mirza was detained under Section 3 of the Maintenance of Public Order (MPO) 1960 and placed under house arrest at the district jail. The law empowers authorities to detain individuals to prevent actions deemed harmful to public safety or order.
