CM Gandapur urges FC deployment to maintain peace in Kurram

Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur has called on the federal government to deploy Frontier Corps (FC) platoons to restore peace in the violence-hit Kurram district. Clashes in the region have claimed over 120 lives, with dozens more injured. Addressing a grand jirga in Kohat, Gandapur stressed the urgency of stabilizing the region, stating, “Peace must be the top priority, and federal support through FC deployment is crucial.” He also directed security forces to adopt a zero-tolerance approach toward individuals disrupting peace, labeling them as terrorists. The death toll rose to 124 on Saturday, with two additional fatalities and 10 injuries reported. The recovery of the burnt bodies of four abducted individuals further underscores the gravity of the situation.
