China to Aid Pakistan in Protecting Chinese Citizens after Karachi Attack

China pledged to work with Pakistan to ensure the safety of Chinese personnel and projects after two Chinese engineers were killed in an attack claimed by the Baloch Liberation Army (BLA). Chinese spokesperson Mao Ning dismissed reports that Pakistan planned to restrict Chinese citizens’ movements during the upcoming SCO meeting due to security risks. The Chinese Embassy confirmed the deaths and injuries of its nationals and some locals. PM Shehbaz visited the Chinese Embassy to offer condolences. Police registered an FIR, alleging the BLA, with help from a foreign agency, aimed to disrupt Pakistan-China relations.
