Bridge Collapse in Gujarat, India Kills 10 People

At least ten people lost their lives after a bridge collapsed in Gujarat’s Vadodara district, plunging vehicles into the river below, according to Indian media. Gujarat Health Minister Rushikesh Patel confirmed the structure, built in 1985, gave way after days of heavy rainfall. At least five people were rescued. Prime Minister Narendra Modi called the incident “deeply saddening” and offered condolences to the victims’ families. The tragedy highlights ongoing infrastructure safety concerns in India, recalling the 2022 Gujarat bridge collapse that killed over 130 people.
