The Board of Intermediate Education Karachi (BIEK) has announced that it will no longer charge a scrutiny fee for Intermediate Part-I students requesting a review of their exam papers.
This decision followed demands from students who argued that charging Rs1,000 per paper for scrutiny was unfair. Previously, the board had offered a 50% discount on scrutiny fees for the 2024 Intermediate Part-I exams in various groups, including Science, Pre-Engineering, General Science, Home Economics, Private Commerce, and Private Arts.
In a recent update, the entire scrutiny fee has been abolished. Additionally, a facilitation desk has been set up at the inquiry window to help students with collecting and submitting scrutiny forms.
In response to student concerns, BIEK also formed a 12-member inquiry committee of senior teachers to review the results. The committee has been directed to complete the scrutiny process within 30 days. Students can download the official scrutiny form from the board’s website.
