At least one person lost their life and several others, including a policeman, were injured in Muzaffarabad, Azad Jammu & Kashmir, during a shutter-down and wheel-jam strike on Monday amid a communications blackout. The protest, led by the Jammu Kashmir Joint Awami Action Committee (JKJAAC) over unmet demands, saw rival groups blame each other for violence during otherwise peaceful demonstrations. Mobile and internet services, suspended since Sunday noon, are expected to remain restricted until Wednesday.
