Mohsin Naqvi, Chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), officially took over as the President of the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) on Thursday, succeeding Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) President Shammi Silva. In his statement, Naqvi expressed his dedication to promoting cricket’s growth across Asia. “Asia remains the heartbeat of world cricket, and I am committed to collaborating with all member boards to expand the game’s reach and influence globally,” he said. Naqvi also recognized Silva’s leadership and thanked him for his valuable contributions. Reflecting on his time as president, Silva highlighted achievements like securing record commercial rights for the ACC Asia Cup and creating a development pathway for emerging teams. He also credited former ACC President Jay Shah for bolstering the council’s position in the cricketing world.
