Former Prime Minister and PTI founder, Imran Khan, has refused to move to his Bani Gala residence in Islamabad to serve the rest of his sentence. He insists he won’t accept this arrangement until all detainees held without trial are released.
Imran Khan’s lawyer, Faisal Chaudhry, shared this decision with reporters outside Adiala Jail. He explained that Khan was offered the option to move to Bani Gala but firmly turned it down.
Khan made it clear that he would stay in prison until those detained without trial are freed, emphasizing his unwillingness to compromise.
Last month, reports suggested a possible deal in which the government might offer Khan house arrest if he agreed to stop challenging the political system and abandon protest politics.
These claims came as PTI and the federal government negotiated the release of political prisoners and the formation of a commission to investigate the events of May 9, 2023, and November 26, 2024.
