Karachi police chief warns against aerial firing on New Year’s Night. Stay safe

Karachi police have announced strict action against aerial firing on New Year’s Eve, warning that offenders will face attempted murder charges.

Additional IG Karachi, Javed Alam Odho, stated this measure aims to prevent injuries and loss of life caused by celebratory gunfire. Last year, over 38 people were injured due to such incidents, which will no longer be tolerated.

He urged the public to report aerial firing immediately, assuring that the police will file cases on behalf of the government. Odho also emphasized that suspects will face strict legal action, including efforts to deny bail.

The Additional IG reaffirmed accountability within the police force, ensuring no abuse of power by officers or personnel. He also highlighted a 24% drop in street crimes and a decline in motorcycle and car theft cases.
