England Nears Victory After Brook’s Triple Century in Multan

England’s bowlers triggered a batting collapse in Pakistan after Harry Brook scored a stunning 317 and Joe Root added 262 in the first Test in Multan. England declared at 823-7, leading by 267 runs. In response, Pakistan struggled at 152-6 at the end of the fourth day, with Agha Salman on 41 and Aamer Jamal on 27 not out. The duo added 70 runs for the seventh wicket, but Pakistan needs 115 more runs to avoid an innings defeat. Brook and Root set a record 454-run partnership for the fourth wicket, leading to England’s highest Test innings. Chris Woakes then dismissed Abdullah Shafique with the first ball of Pakistan’s second innings.
