Petrol Prices Expected to Rise in Pakistan in Upcoming Weekly Review

Petrol prices in Pakistan are expected to rise again in the upcoming weekly review as global oil prices continue to climb, according to media reports and industry estimates.

Petrol may become costlier by around Rs4.75 per litre, raising inflation concerns and increasing transport expenses across the country.

However, high-speed diesel (HSD) prices are likely to remain mostly stable, with only a slight expected increase of about 20 paisa per litre. Despite a rise in international diesel prices, a reduction in customs duty has helped offset the impact for consumers.

The rupee’s stability against the US dollar during the review period has also limited further pressure on fuel prices. The final decision will depend on government adjustments in taxes, petroleum levy, and any last-minute currency changes.
