Israel joins Trump’s global “Board of Peace” on Gaza

Israel has officially joined former President Donald Trump’s “Board of Peace” plan for Gaza, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced during his Washington visit. Visuals from the meeting showed Netanyahu and Senator Marco Rubio holding a signed document confirming Israel’s accession. The Board of Peace, authorized by a UN Security Council resolution, is tasked with coordinating reconstruction and stabilization in war-torn Gaza and overseeing a temporary international stabilization team. Its first meeting is scheduled for 19 February in Washington to discuss rebuilding efforts and fundraising. The initiative has faced criticism from analysts and rights experts, who warn that a foreign-led body could resemble a colonial-style arrangement and marginalize the United Nations, while several countries, including some Western allies, have hesitated or declined to join.
